Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell of CCE is an organisation that aims to promote the institutional vision of transforming youngsters into technological entrepreneurs and innovative leaders.

The initiative is to address the rising trend of corporate job culture and establish a platform to pursue ideas and businesses at an early stage. We at IEDC CCE host various workshops, speaker sessions, competitions to develop skill sets and provide essential resources to take up entrepreneurship as a career.


The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell aims to inculcate and strengthen entrepreneurial quality and motivation necessary to develop knowledge and skills among members of IEDC. We aim to impart basis managerial knowledge and understanding, which help students to formulate the effective, innovative and profitable project.


Provide information about the process, procedure and rules & regulations for setting up a new projects and promote development of science and technology based enterprises.

IEDC Activities


Jump Start Workshop a two day residential workshop was conducted on 1st and 2nd of September, 2017. The workshop focused on building up self confidence and to bringing out the creativity out of the students to find out a better solution to existing problems. The program was a two day residential workshop in which the students were guided through different group activities to come up with creative, innovative and economically feasible solutions to the identified problems.

35 students participated in the workshop in which they were divided into 5 groups. The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Brijesh Ramanunny, entrepreneur. The students actively participated in the activity sessions. Smart Treasure Hunt was organized were in students were given a space for forming their headquarters and asked to find problems faced in the headquarters and come up with a solution for the same. They were enthusiastic in presenting their ideas and offering solutions.


A program was conducted for the first year students of CCE. It was conducted on 11th August, 2017. The program was to make the students aware about what entrepreneurship cell meant. The program was inaugurated by Mr. Fayaz Muhammed (Co-founder, Lamaara). The program consisted of students from all branches.


A visual communication program, which was inaugurated on 9th August, 2017, by Dr. Sajeev John(Principal, CCE). This program is regularly conducted on every Wednesday. This program displays new innovations and technologies on the college LCD screen.


IEDC of Christ College of Engineering organised " Young Entrepreneurship Awareness Program" in association with Department of Industries and Commerce, on 29th September. Industries extension officer, Ms. Mini P R interacted with the students and talked about several govt. policies to support a venture and steps to be followed to become an entrepreneur.


An IEDC cell meet-up was conducted on 2 October, 2017. The program was a platform for the new students to join the club. It was a half-day session led by Mr. Usama Shihabudeen and Mr. Fayaz Muhammed. The students showed keen interest in life experience of both of them. After the session, students interacted with the guests. Students were implored to keep on working on their ideas.


IEDC cell of Christ College of Engineering Irinjalakuda conducted an idea pitching competition “Eureka 2k17’ on 1/11/17 to 4/11/17 .It was to find out the innate abilities of the students and help them to develop it. The programme was inaugurated by our principal Dr. Sajeev John on 1/11/17 at 4:00pm .Twenty five teams participated in the competition. Each one presented their unique ideas. Nikin Nanappan and Nito Tony reached in the first position. And the second secured by Athul parameshwaran .The programme came to an end on 4th November 2017.Roshan sir, the nodal officer of IEDC thanked the judging panel and all the participants. The programme wind up with words of thanks given by Rose A.V , the programme coordinator.


IoT Workshop a two day workshop conducted on 12th to 13th January 2018. The workshop focused at the creation and nurturing of technical details and implementation of Iot related ideas among the students. The program was a two day workshop in which the students were guided through different group activities to come up with great ideas which would be applicable under IoT and also students where guided to implement small IoT related products.

The workshop was inaugurated by Asst. Prof. Roshan David(ME),Nodel officier of Christ college of engineering.The workshop was guided by Irisind cpmpany which is based in Poland. Irisind is a technology consulting firm specializing in IT services and solutions.They were very much keen in giving out their ideas and sharing knowledge they have gained through their works relating IoT and machine learning.

28 students participated in the workshop and in which they were divided into 7 groups.Students were very much eager to learn and in asking doubts to the company members.They were ready to offer internship or placements to students who showed good skills in the workshop.
