In 2015, the Christ College of Engineering established the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, which offers the undergraduate (B. Tech.) programme.The B. Tech. program affiliated with Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University.The department offers the students a setting that encourages both intellectual and personal development. We offer top-notch infrastructural facilities, including language labs, digital libraries, smart classrooms, and computer labs.

Beach Hackathon

The 24hr hackathon - Beachhack 5, 2022

The 24hr hackathon - Beachhack 5 2022, organised by Community of Developers (CODe) the face of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and CSI CCE Chapter, Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda happened at Abideeps paradise, Vadanapilly on December 29th and 30th. Around 14 teams from various colleges across India participated in the event. More than 60+ participants competed for 24hr at the shores of Vadanapilly beach during beach hack 5.

The college website was officially inaugurated on 17th February, 2023

NoneThe college website was officially inaugurated on 17th February, 2023, witnessed by all the management, faculty members of CS Department and also by the 2nd and 3rd year students of CS Department. Mr. Abin, CEO of Web and Crafts and Ms. Josy, COO of Tegain, were the chief guests for the ceremony. A team to supervise the continuous updation, improvement and feedback of the website was constituted. The launch was a great success and the site was greatly applauded in and outside the college.

NoneThe first episode of Streaming Now Season 2 was conducted on Tuesday, 22nd February, 2022. It was a fun-filled, lighthearted chit-chat session with YouTuber Mr. Lijo Lonappan. The event began at 7:30 and lasted an hour. It was conducted in online mode through Google Meet. It was later streamed through YouTube.

Community of Developers(CODe) in association with the Computer Science department of Christ college of engineering organized an offline treasure hunt competition on 22 March 2023.A team of 2 participated in the competition.It was a fun-filled interactive hunt..They were awarded with 2 wonderla tickets.It engaged every students of the college irrespective of the branch and provided a platform to improve unity among students.

A Hands-on Photoshop workshop

A hands-on Photoshop workshop was conducted on 2nd July 2022 from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm by the Computer Science students of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda, in association with CODe and CSI. The staff coordinator for the workshop was Ms. Raisa Varghese. The main resource person was Karthik Kannan(S6 CSE) assisted by Amal C P, Enric S Neelamkavil, Noah Johnny and Noel Tony.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

Orientation Session for S3 and S5 students

The Community of Developers (CODe), an association of the Computer science and Engineering department, had conducted an orientation session for S3 and S5 students on 24th November 2021. The morning session consisted of a hands-on workshop on Photoshop for the S3 students which was taken at the computer lab in St. Mary’s Block. The S5 students had an Ethical Hacking workshop which was held in the seminar hall and was led by S5 students, Austin George and Neeraj, and was an informative session.

A Chit-Chat Session with Ms. Farha Kareem

On Engineer’s Day, CODe, Tinkerhub and GDSC jointly conducted a chit-chat session with Ms. Farha Kareem, the CEO of Meet Resume and an SDE at Amazon. The event commenced at 6 PM. Ancy Paul and Arun Joseph were the hosts of the day. Ms. Farha shared her journey towards Amazon and briefed us about the projects and internships she got to work with.

Industrial Visit

Industrial Visit to TCS

On receiving the permission from TATA Consultancy Services (TCS), Kalamassery, Kochi, Kerala, Computer Science students of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda in association with CODe and CSI, along with two faculty members, Ms. Raisa Varghese and Ms. Biji, went on an industrial visit to TCS on 8th July 2022.

DEBUG THE BUG

A Debugging Competition

A debugging competition, open to all the branches, was held to kickstart the activities of the new Executive Committee for the year 2021-’22 and to mark 4 years of CODe. The competition, coordinated by Austin George and Noel Tony, began at 7 PM and lasted 2 hours. Out of the 66 students who registered, more than 50 students participated and 3 students emerged as the winners.

Community Of Developers (CODe) presents Dev Awards '23. Awarding Best Project Best GitHub Profile Best Open Source contributions .Each category had individual judgement. A candidate could submit multiple entries. The winners were awarded with cash prize.

Cyber Security & Ethical Hacking Workshop

As a part of Techletics ‘22, the Computer Science Department of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda organized a one day offline workshop on Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking. It was held on 5th May 2022 from 10 am to 3 pm. The session was led by Mr. Dhanoop Raveendran.

Blind Coding

A Blind Coding Competition

The second year students of the Computer Science Department of Christ College of Engineering, in association with CODe and CSI, organized a blind coding competition, open to all the students of CCE. The competition was conducted in the computer lab of St. Mary’s Block from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on 6 July.

CODE-A-THON

Coding competition organized as a part of Beach Hack 5.

The competition was held on 14th October from 7 pm to 8:30pm. The event was hosted on HackerRank platform and 29 participants signed up during the event. Denzel Wilson Thoppil from Christ College Autonomous emerged as the winner of the 1 hour long event and was awarded a cash prize of Rs.1000. The participants were given participation certificates.e

Coding Competition

The Computer Science Department of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda organized a coding competition as part of the upcoming Beach Hack 4 . The competition was held on Sunday, 19th of December from 2 pm to 5 pm. The event was hosted on HackerRank platform and had around 95 registrations out of which 73 participants signed up during the event.

Annual General Body Meeting Report

The Annual General Body Meeting took place in Christ Seminar Hall of CCE. The session started with a prayer and a talk given by Ms. Remya K. Sasi, HOD of CS Dept. Liliya Sujo (ex-president of code club) gave an overview of the club's activities during the year 2021-2022. Terrance Johnson was called on to present the expenditure of Beach Hack 4 (ex-treasurer of Code Club). The newly elected executive committee of code club for the year 2022-2023 was formally introduced to the members.

2 nd episode of Master’s Club programme was released on 15 Sept 2020 in celebration of Engineer’s Day. It was inaugurated by Ms. Anwesha Das.

The session was really informative and interactive as she shared her experiences as an engineering student and her career life. She made the session interesting by sharing tips and ideas on how to perform on interviews, resumes, communication skills, etc. and enhancing the path to your dream career.

SPILL THE CODE: THE MASTER'S CLUB- Ep 01

Master’s Club is a programme introduced by CODe, where its members interact and get introduced to professionals from the Computer Science field.

The session was really informative and motivating. The amiable and enthusiastic character of Aditya was appreciated by all the attendees. The session commenced at 4 pm and concluded at 5:15 and ended with a vote of thanks by Mishana Mohammed, the CODe President. The welcome address was given by Cyril Paul, technical head, CODe. Thomas Siby and Cizil Maria handled the sessions. Many attendees shared their queries and doubts which were cleared by Aditya.

We are extremely honored and delighted to be sharing with you all the amazing panel discussion that was conducted yesterday.

NoneIt was an incredible experience for the speakers and the audiences to be illuminated and awed at the same time on a topic that is very less spoken of in our country. When the youth speaks for the youth, there is magic. Thus we will surely be hosting more such discussions which enhances the thought process and oratory skills of all it's viewers.

“Kaleidoscope” was an event conducted in various verticals by The Community of Developers CODe organized by the CSE Department.

Lazar Tony(S7 CSE) conducted a 12 days session on “Basics of C programming” for non-CSE students to aid them for the upcoming TCS NQT Examination. He has been a wonderful facilitator for all the participants who attended the sessions.

How to become an Ideal Engineer

An exclusive session for First and Second year CSE students on “How to become an Ideal Engineer”.

This session was taken by an eminent resource person, Mr. Jithesh Vijayakumar, Project lead at Oracle on 18th May 2021 at 7 pm.

Beach Hack 5 Promotional Event

Face Painting

Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with Computer Society of India CCE student chapter organized a Face painting competition as part of the promotional event of Beach Hack 5. The event was conducted on December 14th, 2022 from 2pm to 3.30pm. We received around 25 registrations from students across various colleges and around 20 participated for the event.

The first official poster of HackEd was released on 5th November, 2020. The third season of Beach Hack, HackEd a spectacular online Hackathon.

Beach Hack, in 2019, introducing the first of it’s kind in South India. it’s very successful sequel was hosted in February 2020.While the whole world is faced with an invisible threat, all of us are being asked to make drastic changes to our lives overnight.The pandemic may not let us code with the breeze of the shore, but it has indeed given us more reasons to “code for a change”.Beach Hack presented Hack’Ed, a spectacular Online Hackathon, where you "rewrite the New Normal".

As part of Engineer’s Day an Essay Writing Competition was held on 13 Sept 2020.

The topic given to the participants was Engineering for Change. There were 18 participants from all over Kerala.

CODE WELCOMES JUNIORS

'Code Welcomes Juniors' was conducted on 28th and 29th December by the second-year students of the computer science and engineering department.

There was an interactive session held at the college for the juniors on 28th December where the students got to know each other better and showcase their talents. It was followed by a fun quest and quiz conducted in online mode.

Lazar Tony (S7 CSE) were the resource persons for the session. The program officially concluded at 4:30 pm. There were more than 30 participants for the workshop.

ALUMNI MEET

Community of Developers conducted a alumni meet for all pass out seniors of computer science and engineering department.

The session was conducted on 10th March 2022.The event started at 5:00pm till 7:00pm.Pass out seniors of 3 batches(2019,2020,2021) gathered for the event. An alumni association for computer science department named CODe alumni was inaugurated during the event.Executive committee was formed for the first time.The meeting had many fun-filled elements such as games for both alumni and teachers.

The Photoshop workshop was a live interactive session conducted by CODe. The program began by 3pm.

Sivadarsh (CS) and Ashkar yaseen (CS) were the resource persons for the session.The first part of the programme was conducted by Sivadarsh. He taught the participants to use photoshop to recreate a simple black and white Logo.

HackNite, a 24-hour hackathon

HackNite, a 24-hour hackathon organized by the Computer Science and Engineering Department Association - CODe of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda, was conducted as part of Techlectics 24. The event took place from 28th to 29th February and saw enthusiastic participation from external teams. With an open theme, the hackathon provided a platform for participants to showcase their innovative solutions and programming skills.

DESIGNATHON '24, a cornerstone event for enthusiasts in design and technology.

DESIGNATHON '24, a cornerstone event for enthusiasts in design and technology, took place at the Center Square of Christ College of Engineering from February 28 to February 29, 2024. The event unfolded starting at 6:00 PM on February 28, preceded by participant registration between 4:30 to 5:30 PM. The release of problem statements at 5:00 PM via the event's website signalled the commencement of the design marathon.
