National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell (Unit No:339) at Christ College of Engineering, which was established in 2015, is a prestigious and impactful organization that plays a pivotal role in fostering social responsibility, community engagement, and personal development among our students. As part of our commitment to nurture responsible citizens and contributing to the betterment of society, we have established this NSS unit within our college. The NSS unit at Christ College of Engineering is a dynamic platform that empowers our students to actively participate in various community service activities, thereby bringing about positive change in their lives and the lives of those around them. Mission and Objectives: Our NSS unit is guided by a clear mission and a set of well-defined objectives: Community Service: To promote the spirit of volunteerism and engage students in community service activities that address local social issues. Skill Development: To develop the leadership, communication, and organizational skills of our students through active participation in NSS activities. Social Awareness: To create awareness about various social issues such as education, health, environment, and sanitation among our student community. Civic Responsibility: To instill a sense of civic responsibility and citizenship in our students, encouraging them to be responsible and active members of society. Activities and Initiatives: Our NSS unit conducts a wide range of activities and initiatives, including but not limited to: Blood Donation Camps: Organizing blood donation drives to contribute to the noble cause of saving lives. Environmental Conservation: Initiatives such as tree planting, waste management campaigns, and clean-up drives to promote environmental sustainability. Health Awareness: Conducting health camps, workshops, and awareness programs to educate the community about health and hygiene. Educational Support: Providing tutoring and educational assistance to underprivileged children in nearby areas. Social Campaigns: Raising awareness about social issues like gender equality, child rights, and anti-drug campaigns. Student Participation: All students at Christ College of Engineering are encouraged to join our NSS unit. Participation not only allows them to give back to society but also enhances their personal and professional growth. It's an opportunity to develop leadership skills, build a strong network, and make a positive impact on the community.

CHAIR FROM REUSE OF BAMBOO

This report frames the method involved with making a seat from reused bamboo logs. The venture was embraced after the finish of our college tech fest, where there were a lot of extra bamboo logs that were not being used. Collectively, the volunteers chose to reuse the bamboo to make something utilitarian and useful to the local area. NEW LEADERS SELECTION

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a young situated wilful association laid out in India. WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

The photography contest was focused on novice and expert photographic artists who could present their best nature photos. After cautious thought, the champ of the photography contest was reported to be Albert George, who got the monetary reward.

THE FINAL MEMORY

WORLD OCEAN DAY

World Ocean Day is an annual event observed on 17th September to raise awareness among the public about the impact of human actions on the ocean. It is a day to encourage people to take action and protect the ocean and its marine life. NSS CCE, Unit No: 588 celebrated this day by organizing a beach cleaning drive at Cherai Beach and Chavakkad Beach. The event was held on 17th September 2022, and it was a half-day cleaning session. The NSS members were divided into two groups, with one group cleaning Cherai Beach, and the other group cleaning Chavakkad Beach. The members were equipped with gloves, masks, and trash bags to collect and dispose of the waste.

WE CARE PROJECT

On seventeenth September 2022, NSS volunteers of Christ College of Engineering effectively partaken in the government assistance program "WE Give it a second thought & quot; project, coordinated by the Kerala Federal retirement aide Mission (KSSM), Legislature of Kerala. The program was facilitated by St. Joseph's Autonomous College, Irinjalakuda, and was gone to by NSS volunteers and NCC trainees from various colleges. The principal objective of the program was to gather assets for the WE CARE project, which expects to give monetary help to the monetarily in reverse families in Kerala for their clinical treatment.

TREE PLANTATION DRIVE

On October third 2022, the NSS Unit No:588 coordinated a Tree Manor Drive at Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda. The drive was expected to advance natural mindfulness among the undergrads and the nearby local area. The occasion began at 9 am toward the beginning of the day, and it was held at the area behind St Mary's block in the college premises. The youngsters of the NSS unit were the principal members of this drive. NSS CAMP INAUGURATION

NSS CAMP INAUGURATION

On the first day of the seven-day camp organized by NSS Unit 588 of Christ College of Engineering, the Municipality Chairperson, Ms Shinija M U, inaugurated the event at Muziris Heritage Resort in Kodungallur Municipality. The volunteers arrived at ten o'clock and began cleaning all the places and rooms where the camp is held. After lunch, the cleaning up and unloading of goods were completed, and the kitchen and stove were fixed. The volunteers welcomed each guest of honor who arrived around 4:45 by NSS clap. Executive director of CCE ,Father John Paliekkara presided the event and Ms.Shinija M U was the chief guest. Other dignitaries, such as Ward Member Ms Rekha Salprakash, Joint Director Father Joy Payyappilly, and NSS Program Officers Jasmine Ma'am and Prabashankar Sir, were also present. Everyone sung along with Father Joy's song.

KSCSTE - NATPAC SURVEY

This report is about KSCSTE-NATPAC survey which were conduct by both KSCSTE- NATPAC on the academic year 2022-2023 and was conducted on March 4 2023.Which involved activate participation of NSS Volunteers both S3 and S5 of Christ College of Engineering. Survey was concentrated on drivers of all vehicles which includes Two wheeler,Four wheeler, Autorickshaw and even on Trucks or heavy vehicles at Mukundapuram Taluk, Irinjalakuda, Trissur. The NSS team went to streets on the evening of 4th March and effectively collect the survey details as directed by KSCSTE. The survey was conducted for all the drivers and proprietors of cab , autorickshaw ,trucks ,pickup vehicles and different merchandise vehicles etc...

PAINTING CHAIRS

PAINTING CHAIRS

On 20th March 2023, the NSS Unit No: 588 of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda demonstrated their commitment to community service by cleaning and painting the surroundings of Chalakudy Railway Station on 20th March 2023. The Cleaning programs was done by the NSS volunteers of Christ College Of Engineering. The Railway Station Cleaning and Painting Old Chairs at Railway" was initiated with the aim of contributing to the cleanliness and aesthetics of our local railway station. The project took place from 20th morning to evening, and it was organized NSS volunteer, in collaboration with the local railway authorities. At first the student volunteers cleaned the surroundings of railway station properly and collected the necessary wastes for proper waste disposal. The railway station was in a bad condition due to its improper cleaning for a long duration but we NSS volunteers showed our sprit by properly cleaning the station.

NSS Unit 339 is glad to have conducted the Independence Day on August 15 st, 2023. The session took place in front of the St.Chavara block, by 9am. The NSS core members and NSS volunteers conducted the program. Our chief guest Honorable Captain Dasan P.K.Our Principal and Joint Director was also the guest of the program. We started our program with Manavageetham. Followed by a welcome speech by Theresa Joshy. Then our chief guest hosted the flag. Moving forward, the Independence Day message was given by the Principal and Joint Director. By giving ponnada to the chief guest we honored him. Then followed by his experience sharing. Independence Day Greetings was given by the program officer Febin Raju . Vote of thanks by volunteer secretary Abhinav M S. By around 11pm on the same day with the National Anthem the program came to an end.

NSS Unit 339 is glad to have conducted the Bridge Course orientation on August 21st, 2023. The session took place on the new block, St. Mary's block at Seminar Hall by 2pm. The NSS core members and NSS volunteers conducted the program for the students of Electronics and Communication and Electrical and Electronics dept on Day 1. At the start of the event a brief description about NSS was given by Vivek C Ravi (Asst.professor Mechanical Dept). Then we moved on to the games. There were entertainment sessions too. By 3.30pm we brought an end to the games and we started a confidence bringing program "Fire Walk”. All of the students were very excited to try it. The Fire Walk was conducted by taking all the safety measures. By around 4.30pm on the same day the session came to an end. Students were very happy to attend this session and were very excited to join this community.

Orphanage Visit

Orphanage Visit

NSS Unit 339 is glad to coordinate the Orphanage Visit on August 23rd, 2023 held by our college. All the new students and the volunteers along with the staff were divided and sent to seven orphanages. By 1.45 we started from the college. For travelling we used the facility of college bus. We have collected the food items and dresses from the students so that it could be a help to them. Then these items were equally divided and given to each orphanage. The orphanages we visited were: 1.Shanthi Sadanam Irinjalakuda 2.Santhwana Sadanam Irinjalakuda 3.Batsaidha Chellor 4.Divya Karunya Kallettumkara 5.Sevanagiri Sevanalayam Ashtamichira 6.House of Providence Irinjalakuda 7.Abhaya Bhavan Porathissery By around 4.30pm on the same day we came back to the college. Students got a new experience of visiting an orphanage and they got to know about the difficulties of the members there.

NSS CAMP

The NSS unit no. 339 of Christ College of Engineering organized a 7-day NSS camp "Pookalam '' from 27 August to 2 September 2023 at Sree P. K Chathan Master Memorial UP and LP Govt School, Madaikonam. The camp was inaugurated by Mrs. Suja Sanjeevkumar, Irinjalakuda Municipality Chairperson, and several other dignitaries were also present. The aim of the camp was to develop various skills among the volunteers and improve their personalities. The 48 NSS student volunteers were divided into six teams of eight members each. Each team was assigned a specific duty for each day, such as the program committee, kitchen committee, cleaning committee, project committee, cultural committee, and newspaper & evaluation committee. The volunteers were enthusiastic and committed towards their respective duties. The program committee was responsible for scheduling and arranging official activities for the respective day. The kitchen committee was responsible for cooking food for around 50 people every day. They enjoyed their duties as they worked together as a team, learning new recipes and cooking techniques.

NSS Unit 339 celebrated Children's Day with a visit to the Anganvadi, bringing joy to the little ones. The Aganvadi radiated with happy faces as volunteers engaged in activities, including a lively coloring competition. The winner received a coloring book as a prize, and the volunteers shared happiness by distributing chocolates to the charming children.
