The Receptive Association of Civil Engineers (RACE) is the students' association of the Civil Engineering Department in Christ College of Engineering. It was established in the year 2016 .RACE provides an opportunity for civil engineering students to build academic, social, and professional relationships through a wide range of activities including monthly meetings, expert talks, site visits, technical competitions, social events and community volunteering. The association helps to expand and strengthen team spirit and dedication of students.

Technical Workshop on 'CONCEPTUAL STRUCTURAL DESIGN - THE ART OF STRUCTURES'

ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK MODELING

Organized by the Civil Engineering Association RACE

A three-day add-on course on Artificial Neural Network Modelling was organized by the Civil Association RACE from 24 May 2021 to 27 May 2021. The course was aimed at providing participants with an in-depth understanding of Artificial Neural Networks and their applications in Civil Engineering. Ms. Vinitha Sharon, Assistant Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering, was the resource person for the course. Her expertise made the course highly informative and valuable for the participants.

Binge with RACE is a series of live talk shows hosted by the Department of Civil Engineering and RACE

Binge with RACE is a series of live talk shows hosted by the Department of Civil Engineering and RACE CCE featuring popular YouTube personalities, with an intent that focused on bringing contents of greater entertainment value for the students. Despite the unwelcome impacts brought out by COVID-19, taking this stride surely made a difference in keeping the zest alive among the students. The pilot session, which was with Mr. Harees Ameerali, a popular travel vlogger with 5.6 lakh subscribers.

CIVILANTINE 2020

On May 2020, the Department of Civil Engineering and RACE CCE successfully conducted their association day online amidst the COVID-19 lockdown.

The event was a combination of technical and non-technical programs that aimed to showcase the skills and talents of the department's students. The technical programs included an idea pitching competition, where students presented their innovative ideas related to civil engineering. Another program was the sustainable design project, where participants showcased their creative designs that aimed to promote sustainability in the construction industry.

STAAD PRO VALUE ADDED COURSE

The resource person for the course was Mr. Jestine J Thannikal, an assistant professor in the Civil Department.

RACE, the civil association of the college, provided a 4-day add-on course on STAAD Pro for the students from June 15 to June 19, 2021. The course was aimed at providing hands-on experience to the students on one of the most widely used software for structural analysis and design.

HANDS-ON WORKSHOP - AUTO CAD
