About

The Computer Society of India (CSI) chapter of Christ Engineering of College was inaugurated by the Kerala state student coordinator Dr. M V Rajesh on 4th March 2020. He shared his expertise and experiences on being a member of the CSI and apprised the students of its advantages and the various opportunities it offers. He appreciated the endeavours undertaken by the college and its keen interest in such pursuits.

Events

bootUp Web Development Bootcamp

An offline overnight bootcamp on web development

CSI Student Chapter of Christ College Of Engineering,Irinjalakuda organized an offline overnight bootcamp on web development.It was held on 10th and 11th of march 2023. The session started at 6:30 pm on 10th march and ended at 5:00 pm on 11th march 2023. A total of 30 students participated in the workshop.The session was led by Mr. Muhammad Sajad Front-end Development Head Tegain.

TutAR - AR Experience

AR Expo

Computer Science department of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda has organized an AR Expo “TutAR” as a part of our Techfest, Techletics’22. The Expo was held on May 4 2022, 10 AM to 4 PM. Mr.Shyam Pradeep from Infusory Future Tech Labs Private Limited was our resource person. Ms.Nandini J Warrier was the staff coordinator and Liliya Sujo and Megha Paulson were the student coordinators of the program.

Beach Hack 4 Code o'fiesta 2021- Coding Competition

The Computer Science Department of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda organized a coding competition as part of the upcoming Beach Hack 4 . The competition was held on Sunday, 19th of December from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Blind Coding

Blind coding competition

The second year students of the Computer Science Department of Christ College of Engineering, in association with CODe and CSI, organized a blind coding competition, open to all the students of CCE. The competition was conducted in the computer lab of St. Mary’s Block from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on 6 July. A total of 28 students participated in the event and Aneena Joseph Akkara of S4 CSE emerged as the winner, bagging a cash prize of Rs.1000.

Beach Hack 5

A 24 hour hackathon

Computer Science department of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda has organized "Beach Hack 5" a 24 hour hackathon on the theme "Marine And Fisheries” conducted on 29th Dec and 30th Dec 2022 The judging panel was: Dr Vince Paul, Mr.Lazar Tony,Mr Sarath Thithikkatt, Mr Anand Antony, Mr Antony T Jose.

GAMES CORNER

A promotional event for Beach hack

Games corner was conducted a promotional event for Beach hack 5 on the 18th of November,2022 along with Annual Sports meet. Games corner was a fun space which included a number of games with an entrance fee of Rs.10. Games included basketball shooting , bowling etc. Students and teachers irrespective of branches took active participation and made the venture a grand success. Participants who won were provided with variety of gifts too.

BH5 LOGO LAUNCH REPORT

Logo launch

CSI in association with CODe organized a 24hr hackathon BH5 at Abhideep’s Paradise,Vadanapilly on 29th and 30th December 2022. The logo launch of the event was conducted on 15th October 2022.It was held in the presence of Director Rev.Fr.John Palliakkara , Principal Sajeev John ,Vice principal V D John HOD Dr.Remya K Sasi and all department faculties.The official website of BH5 was also released on the same day.The ex-com of BH5 lead by Amal C Paulson was present for the event.

CODE-A-THON

Coding competition

The Computer Science Department of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda, in association with the Computer Society of India Student Chapter organized a coding competition as a part of the upcoming Beach Hack 5. The competition was held on 14th October from 7 pm to 8:30pm. The event was hosted on HackerRank platform and 29 participants signed up during the event.

BLOCKCHAIN WORKSHOP

Workshop on Blockchain

The Computer Society Of India(CSI) of CCE organized a 3 day workshop on Blockchain.The workshop was conducted by Mr.Abhilash Sreeedharan, blockchain developer at TCS.A total of 78 participants attended the event.Registration fee was Rs.250 and certificates were provided to all the participants.

Cyber Security & Ethical Hacking Workshop

A one day offline workshop

As a part of Techletics ‘22, the Computer Science Department of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda organized a one day offline workshop on Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking. It was held on 5th May 2022 from 10 am to 3 pm. A total of 60 participants took part in the workshop. The session was led by Mr. Dhanoop Raveendran. The event aimed to enrich the technical knowledge of students in the field of Cyber Security.

FACE PAINTING AND DRAWING COMPETITION

An offline inter-college drawing event.

Face painting competition and Drawing competition was conducted by CSI student chapter of Christ College of Engineering on 14th december 2022 as an offline inter-college event.Student coordinators for the events were Jaivin Joseph and Megha Thomas.Face painting competition was conducted at auditorium which began at 2pm and was conducted for the duration of 1 hr 30 mins. Theme for face painting competition was emotions. Drawing competition was conducted from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.

Industrial Visit

A gateway to technical knowledge

On receiving the permission from TATA Consultancy Services (TCS), Kalamassery, Kochi, Kerala, Computer Science students of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda in association with CODe and CSI, along with two faculty members, Ms. Raisa Varghese and Ms. Biji, went on an industrial visit to TCS on 8th July 2022.An employee (Ms.Sumi) gave an introduction to their company. We were given refreshments at 11:00 am. We had an interactive session on Internet of Things (IoT) by Mr. Manu Pradeep.

IDEATHON

A two level presentation competition

Ideathon was conducted in two rounds which was open to all colleges in India. Registrations were accepted from 2nd November 2022 through google forms. The first-round was conducted in the online mode on 19th November 2022. Team Ace from Sahardaya college of Engineering grabbed the first position and was awarded with a cash prize of Rs.3000. The second and third positions were grabbed by Team Swathanthra from MES college and Team Developers from Christ college of Engineering

IoT Workshop

A hands-on workshop

A hands-on workshop on IoT was organized by the CSI student chapter, Computer science and Engineering department, Christ College of Engineering. It was conducted on 13th November 2022 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The staff coordinator for the workshop was Mrs. Jasmine Jolly. The resource person of the event was Mr. Sunil Paul. The event was exclusively for students of computer science department.

MARVEL QUIZ

An online inter college quiz competition

MARVEL quiz- an online inter college quiz competition held on 11th December 2022.The quiz was conducted on the platform quizziz.com which began at 7pm and was conducted for a duration of 30 minutes.There were 30 questions based on the marvel superheroes characters and each question was given 15 seconds.Student co-ordinators of the event were Aravind v raj and Erin Davies. Ashin Gorge emerged as the winner of the quiz competition and was awarded with a cash prize of Rs.350/-.

Photoshop Workshop

A hands-on Photoshop workshop

A hands-on Photoshop workshop was conducted on 2nd July 2022 from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm by the Computer Science students of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda, in association with CODe and CSI. The staff coordinator for the workshop was Ms. Raisa Varghese. The main resource person was Karthik Kannan(S6 CSE) assisted by Amal C P, Enric S Neelamkavil, Noah Johnny and Noel Tony.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM

Orientation program for first years

The Offline Orientation program was conducted for First-year students on 18th and 19th of october from 9am to 12 pm. The motto of the program was to introduce the different committees of the CS department. Students were given a brief idea about the CSI student chapter in our college. A presentation was being presented by CSI Student Chapter President Krishnanand presented a brief idea about the benefits of joining our club, The membership plans, and Introducing executive committees.

STUDENT MASTER PROGRAM 3

A one day offline workshop on HTML, CSS and JAVASCRIPT

CSI CCE Student Chapter of Christ College Engineering,Irinjalakuda organized a one day offline workshop as part of student master program on basics of HTML, CSS and JAVASCRIPT for 2nd year computer science students of christ college of engineering.The session started at 9:00 am and ended at 3:00pm. A total of 35 students participated in the event.The session was led by Mr.Ajil Ibrahim & Mr.Adithyakrishnan final year S8 students of christ college of engineering.

Laravel workshop

One day hands-on training in Laravel framework

One day hands-on training in Laravel framework was organized by the CSI student chapter, Computer science and Engineering department, Christ College of Engineering was conducted on February 07 2023.The event was coordinated by Ms.Jasmine Jolly ,Ms Nighila Ashok,Fernandes K J(student coordinator) . The resource person of the training session was Ms. Ragi K.G. The training session was specially conducted for S5 CS students and faculty members.Students were introduced to the php framework.

Student Master Program 4

A one day offline workshop on web development.

CSI CCE Student chapter of CCE in association with CODe of CCE organized a one day offline workshop on web development. We mainly had four topics covered during the session. Four students from current third years were the resource persons of the event. 1) Noah Johny(S6 CSE) - Introduction to Figma 2)Amal C P(S6 CSE) - Session on Django & ReactJs 3)Pranav Madhu(S6 CSE) - Session on react Native 4)Enric S Nellamkavil(S6 CSE) - Advanced Figma Technique.

Te Quiz

An offline quiz event

Te quiz was conducted on 12th of October open to all branches as an offline event.Registrations were accepted from 9th of October through google forms.The quiz was conducted on the platform slido which began at 2pm and was conducted for the duration of 30mins.There were 15 questions based on general tech and each question was given 15 seconds.Out of 44 students who registered 36 students participated.

UI/UX COMPETITION

A UI/UX design competition

A UI/UX design competition was conducted on 22 December 2022.The theme of the competition as waste management.The platform used was figma.The event was coordinated by Amal C Paulson and Enric S Neelamkavil.A registration fee of Rs.30 was collected. Surya Sudheer and MeghaThomas emerged as the winner. A cash prize of 1K was awarded to the winners. Certificates were provided to all the participants.

UNITY GAME DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

Workshop on unity,a popular cross-platform game engine

The Computer Society Of India(CSI) of CCE and the Game Development Community of CCE jointly organized the workshop.The workshop was conducted by Mr. Elwin Jose, Technical Support Trainee at SOTI. A total of 35 participants attended the event.Registration fee was Rs.100 and certificates were provided to all the participants. Unity is a popular cross-platform game engine used to create 2D and 3D video games and other interactive content.

VALORANT

An inter-college online

Valorant Tournament, an inter-college online event was conducted by CSI student chapter of Christ college of engineering on 20th November 2022. It was conducted in 2 rounds. Registration fee for the event was Rs 50. Students from various colleges had participated in the tournament. Student Coordinators for this event were Job M O and Akash Antony. Prize pool for the event was about 1.5K. Certificates were provided for all the participants.

WEBMANIA

WEB DEVELOPMENT COMPETITION

The Computer Society of India- Student branch of Christ College of Engineering conducted a web development competition.The theme for the competition will be released on 6th July 2022. The participants will be given a total duration of 24 hours to create their amazing websites.

Django

A one day Value Added Course

The one day value added course on “Django framework” was held at Common computing lab, St.Chavara block on 20th February, 2023. A total of 45 participants from S6 CSE (2020-2024 batch) participated in this training. The purpose of this training was to train participants on the concept of Django-framework and to give a start kick to the world of development. Training included various topics such as HTML, Python, CSS along with the integration of all of these into a single framework.
