1. Activity Based Learning: - The students are encouraged to participate in activity-based learning by model making and also by participating in real time Industrial tasks. Working in a team atmosphere enhances their leadership skills as well as their ability to function as a unit. Additionally, they gain presentation and communication skills through the model presentations they give to faculty and students.

1. Model Making

Goal

To enable students to get a clear understanding and visualization of subjects To discover practical aspects and significance of the technological concepts.

Activity

The objective of model making is to inculcate a scientific attitude and research mildness so that students develop the qualities of analytical and critical thinking.

1. Real Time Industrial tasks

Goal

To enable students to get a clear understanding and visualization of subjects To discover practical aspects and significance of the technological concepts.

Activity

The industry gives an exposure to students understand real problems. A timeline is given to students to complete the task. This challenges them to solve problems using the skills attained in academics. This includes the projects from different Industry like National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC), Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM) and local bodies. Surveys, mapping and building & interior design are few tasks that are already completed.

2. ICT enabled content delivery: - The best teaching strategy should speed up learning and comprehension without taking a lot of time. Through the use of visual aids that are always available to students, the introduction of technology into teaching and learning has significantly increased the rate at which knowledge is delivered. These increases understanding and gives students the flexibility to learn at their own pace. ICT enabled tools and resources are used to communicate, disseminate, store and manage information. It provides direct access to quality instructional resources through computers connected in LAN and Internet. The in-built LCD projectors and interactive boards in classrooms facilitate faculty members to display visually content-rich presentations using PPTs, videos and live demonstrations.

1. Department YouTube channel

Goal

To enable students to get a clear understanding and visualization of subjects To provide a platform for students to (a) discuss the subject topics with other students in class rooms and thereby enabling them to learn in a more appropriate way (b) have an effective participation in group discussion (c) active involvement in team work (d) develop good and healthy communication skills.

Activity

YouTube channel of Civil Department CIVIL-WIZ contains videos of comprehensive learning focusing on solving questions aiming public sector exams.

1. YouTube Channel by faculty

Activity

The video lectures of certain topics in selected courses were prepared by the course faculty and have the same content as the classroom lectures, but are delivered at a slower, more step-by-step pace. Video lectures give students control of the lecture and are portable. Students can replay segments and stop the lecture as they study to understand the content. They can skip topic segments they understand. In effect, they can adjust the instructors delivery speed and topic selection to match their individual learning pace, especially beneficial to the weak students. 1.
