The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] Students’ Chapter
The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is the largest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers, established in 1920 with its Headquarters located in Kolkata. The Institution of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter of Civil Engineering Department was initiated in 2021 with 81 student members guided by faculty advisor. The Students' Chapter was started with a motive to encourage professional growth of students through various technical activities such as technical talks, industrial visits, workshops, competitions etc.

In a significant stride toward bridging the gap between industry and academia, the Builders' Association of India (BAI), Thrissur Centre, has joined hands with Christ College of Engineering (CCE), Irinjalakuda, to establish a vibrant and purpose-driven Students’ Chapter within the institution. This collaboration is grounded in mutual trust, shared vision, and a commitment to advancing the knowledge and professional development of budding civil engineers. The primary objectives of this collaboration are to foster academic interest, provide students with real-world exposure, and facilitate the exchange of expertise. BAI and CCE aim to strengthen civil engineering education by promoting research, quality teaching practices, and engagement with modern construction technologies.

ASCE
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is a leading international professional organization dedicated to advancing the civil engineering profession and promoting excellence in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure. Founded in 1852, ASCE is one of the oldest engineering societies in the world and represents civil engineers, students, educators, researchers, and industry professionals globally. The ASCE CCE Student Chapter was established at Christ College of Engineering (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda, in March 2026 under the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The chapter is currently under probation for a period of one year as part of the process of establishing and developing its activities. The chapter aims to provide Civil Engineering students with opportunities for technical learning, professional development, leadership, networking, industrial exposure, competitions, and community engagement. Through activities such as technical talks, workshops, industrial visits, design competitions, social outreach programmes, and sustainability initiatives, the chapter seeks to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice and encourage students to actively contribute to the civil engineering profession and society.
