Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary research area of immense importance. With Government and Private research agencies advancing funds for projects in this area, it is of profound importance that the student and faculty community be aware of the feasible project areas in bioinformatics. Project Expo
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering conducted Project Expo on the 28th of July 2022. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest of the day, Dr Anand Paul, Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Kyungpook National University, South Korea. The guest was accompanied by Rev. Fr. John Palliakara CMI - Executive Director, Dr. Sajeev John - Principal, Ms. Iris Jose - H.O.D in-charge of the department of CSE and faculty members.

Beach Hack 2022
BEACH HACK is a 24-hour hackathon, which bring computer programmers and software developers to collaborate and find an innovative solution to some of the problems we face in our society, and simultaneously improve their critical and creative thinking. BEACH HACK 4, the much-awaited 4th season of BEACH HACK was planned to be held on 20th and 21st of May 2022 on the shores of Azhikode beach, Kodungallur. Unfortunately, due to the bad weather we conducted the program in online mode this year.

Automatic Hand Sanitizer
The rising awareness of contagious infections and the importance of maintaining hand hygiene with liquid soap, hand sanitizer, or with rubbing alcohol among individuals is boosting segment growth in the wake of COVID-19. By reducing physical contact, an automated dispenser keeps viruses from spreading around in communal areas. Therefore, we have built the simplest, low-cost automated sanitizer dispenser without using Arduino.

Online Mock Engineering test
The Computer Science and Engineering Department in association with TIME (Triumphant Institute of Management Education) conducted an *Online Mock Engineering Entrance Examination* as per _KEAM_ pattern on 28th June, Sunday. It witnessed massive response with nearly *_500 students_* participating for the same. Amidst the prevailing uncertainty due to the ongoing pandemic, this mock test provided a platform to the students to test their knowledge and gain confidence.

CSI-CCE STUDENTS’ CHAPTER- ‘JALAKAM’
Jalakam, an initiative by the CSI (Computer Society of India) chapter of Christ College of Engineering, in association with CoDE (Computer Science Dept. Association), is aimed to distribute refurbished Mobile Phones to students who are in need, to assist them in their online classes. This socially inclined initiative of CSI, was inaugurated on 29th of June 2020, by Irinjalakuda Block Panchayat President Sri. Manoj, in the presence of the Executive Director Fr. John Paliakara CMI.

CSI in association with CODe organized a 24hr hackathon BH5 at Abhideep’s Paradise,Vadanapilly on 29th and 30th December 2022. The logo launch of the event was conducted on 15th October 2022.It was held in the presence of Director Rev.Fr.John Palliakkara , Principal Sajeev John ,Vice principal V D John HOD Dr.Remya K Sasi and all department faculties.The official website of BH5 was also released on the same day.The ex-com of BH5 lead by Amal C Paulson was present for the event.

Cyber Security & Ethical Hacking Workshop
As a part of Techletics ‘22, the Computer Science Department of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda organized a one day offline workshop on Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking. It was held on 5th May 2022 from 10 am to 3 pm. A total of 60 participants took part in the workshop. The session was led by Mr. Dhanoop Raveendran. The event aimed to enrich the technical knowledge of students in the field of Cyber Security.

Ideathon was conducted in two rounds which was open to all colleges in India. Registrations were accepted from 2nd November 2022 through google forms. The first-round was conducted in the online mode on 19th November 2022. Out of 22 teams who registered 19 teams participated in the first round. Games corner was conducted a promotional event for Beach hack 5 on the 18th of November,2022 along with Annual Sports meet. Games corner was a fun space which included a number of games with an entrance fee of Rs.10. Games included basketball shooting , bowling etc. Students and teachers irrespective of branches took active participation and made the venture a grand success. Participants who won were provided with variety of gifts too

Surya Sudheer and MeghaThomas emerged as the winner. A cash prize of 1K was awarded to the winners.Certificates were provided to all the participants.

The college website was officially inaugurated on 17th February, 2023, witnessed by all the management, faculty members of CS Department and also by the 2nd and 3rd year students of CS Department. Mr. Abin, CEO of Web and Crafts and Ms. Josy, COO of Tegain, were the chief guests for the ceremony. A team to supervise the continuous updation, improvement and feedback of the website was constituted. The launch was a great success and the site was greatly applauded in and outside the college.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering conducted Project Expo on the 28th of July 2022. The event was inaugurated by the Chief guest of the day, Dr Anand Paul, Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Kyungpook National University, South Korea. The Computer Society Of India(CSI) of CCE and the Game Development Community of CCE jointly organized the workshop.The workshop was conducted by Mr. Elwin Jose, Technical Support Trainee at SOTI. Value Added Course on Blockchain
Organized blockchain workshop on 14th and 16th Nov 2022 for S3 and S5 students of department of computer science and engineering.Coordinators were Ms. Bhagyasree PV & Ms. Magniya Davis.Student Coordinators were Mr. Surya Kiran PM & Ms. Jacin Joy.The program was aimed to bridge the gap between academics and industry need. Value Added Course On Django
Dept. of Computer Science hosted a Value Added programme on Django-framework. Mr. Anu C, Principal Software Engineer of Digitivy Technology Solutions, led the hands-on training. There were 46 students present for the event. The purpose of this training was to train participants on the concept of Django-framework and to give a start kick to the world of development. Training included various topics such as HTML, Python, CSS along with the integration of all of these into a single framework.

UI/UX COMPETITION REPORT
A UI/UX design competition was conducted on 22 December 2022.The theme of the competition as waste management.The platform used was figma.The event was coordinated by Amal C Paulson and Enric S Neelamkavil.A registration fee of Rs.30 was collected. Surya Sudheer and MeghaThomas emerged as the winner. A cash prize of 1K was awarded to the winners.Certificates were provided to all the participants.

Essay Writing Competition
As part of Engineer’s Day an Essay Writing Competition was held on 13 Sept 2020. The topic given to the participants was Engineering for Change. There were 18 participants from all over Kerala. The competition was well coordinated and was judged by Nandhini Ma’am and Iris Ma’am of Computer Science department at Christ College of Engineering. The Winner of this competition was Alex Neelankavil of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda and the winner was awarded a cash prize of Rs 500.

Te Quiz
Te quiz was conducted on 12th of October open to all branches as an offline event.Registrations were accepted from 9th of October through google forms.The quiz was conducted on the platform slido which began at 2pm and was conducted for the duration of 30mins.There were 15 questions based on general tech and each question was given 15 seconds.Out of 44 students who registered 36 students participated.

Student Master's Session
CSI students branch conducted a training programme on Topic, “Cross-platform Development with Flutter”. Flutter is Google's UI toolkit for building beautiful, natively compiled applications for mobile, web and desktop from a single code base. Students, Cyril Paul and Sonu P S of S4 CSE were resource persons of this event. All participants were introduced and briefed on the basics of Flutter. The students utilized this lock down period to gain and disseminate a new knowledge.

The Computer Society Of India (CSI) of CCE organized a 3 day workshop on Blockchain. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Abhilash Sreeedharan, blockchain developer at TCS.
