Hands-on Workshop - Introduction to Data Science using Python
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organised a hands-on Workshop - Introduction to Data Science using Python on 10th October 2022 from 1.30pm-4.45pm. Resource person was- Ms.Jasmine Jolly, AP in CSE and Ms.Manju I Kollannur, AP in ECE the was the staff co ordinator. 34 students participated in the workshop and received good feedback from the students.

An interactive Session for Plus Two Students “What’s your Juggle Story?” on the topic “Be a Pioneer of the future” was conductedn on June 4. The session was hosted by Dr.Shilpa Rita Mathew who has majored in human resource management. She motivated the students to overcome negative thoughts during covid 19 scenerio. Also there was an inspiring session by our students which paved the way for the 12th grade students for a smooth entry to engineering life.

Industrial Visit of 2021 Batch
An Industrial Visit to "Kerala Electrical and Allied Engineering Co. Ltd",Mamala, Kochi was organised by the Second semester,Electronics and Communication Department of batch 2021-2025 on Friday, 8th July 2022. The 52 students with two facilities visited KEL mamala to gain knowledge about transformers and its manufacturing. KEL is a multifaceted company fully owned by the State Government.

Industrial Visit of 2019 Batch
The 56 students of the S6 Electronics and Communication Engineering batch of 2019-2023 started the Industrial Visit on 08/07/2022 at 07.00am to KEL. After our breakfast we started our journey to the KEL electrical and allied engineering company, a Kerala Govt. undertaking private limited company Edarikkod, Malappuram. Kerala Electrical & Allied Engineering Co. Ltd., also known as KEL, is one among the largest productive public sector undertaking, fully owned company by the Government of Kerala.

Industrial Visit of 2020 Batch
As a part of our industrial visit, we were able to visit one of the five manufacturing plants of ITI LTD that is located in Palakkad, Kerala on 02/07/22. We were a group of 49 students and two faculty. The visit was aimed to enhance the knowledge of the students. By the end of the visit, we were able to gain more knowledge about PCB boards and their making.

A group of 50 students from S6 ECE conducted a Industrial visit to C-MET, Thrissur today. Students could understand how various electronic devices are fabricated starting from the material level, how they are integrated and evolved to practical applications. Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with IEDC CCE organised a hands-on workshop on " PCB Design and Fabrication " today. Students have printed a Voltage Regulator circuit, starting from schematic entry, followed by layout design, mask transfer, etching, development and hole drilling for contact pads.

Student Training Evaluation
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted a one-day Value added course on Tinkercad for the first-semester ECE students. The sessions were held on 12 November 2021. The resource person for the session was Ms. Sreelekha T, Assistant Professor of department of ECE. The active participants were provided with E-Certificates. The course aimed to provide hands-on experience in circuit design using Tinkercad, a popular platform for designing and simulating circuits.

Value Added Course on Introduction to computer hardware & chip level service
Value Added Course on Introduction to computer hardware & chip level service conducted for S2 ECE students under the guidance of Mr.Aswin K M on 16/08/2022.The students are able to understand the basics of computer hardware and are able to perform troubleshooting. They also learnt about various SMD components and were able to identify the faulty ones ,replace them with new ones if necessary.Learnt and practiced soldering and also worked with SMD workstation.

An inter college project expo and competition was organised by the Department of ECE in association with ECTA and IEEE as part of PRISMA 23. Twenty teams from various colleges exhibited their projects. The expo was inaugurated by Fr. Joy Payyappilly CMI, Joint Director, CCE. A total of Rs. 10000/ was given as the prize money.

AR/VR WORKSHOP
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted a one-day hands on workshop on Augmental and Virtu22. The resourceal Reality (AR/VR). Resource person for the session was Ms. Soorya, CEO, Manas VR lab Pvt. Ltd. The active participants were provided with E-Certificates. Logic Circuit Designing competition-Bug Buster (Prisma'23)
A technical competition was organised as part of PRISMA 2023 based on Logic Circuit Design Course.Students were asked to debug a logic circuit (assembled on a software platform) abiding by a certain condition, that they could defuse a ‘virtual bomb’. Three circuits were given for solving, and the teams that completed with least time and attempts were given prizes.

On Jan 7, 2022 Department of Electronics and Communication of Christ College of Engineering hosted a 1 day workshop on ‘Basics to Arduino Boards’ named SYNAPSE at Government Model Girls HSS.The workshop was organised as part of the student outreach program. A workshop on “Introduction to design for Testability’’ was Conducted by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering on 30th June 2021at 6pm. The session was led by Ms. Veena K, Product Development Engineer II DFT, Anora Semiconductors. The Session mainly focused on testing of Digital Circuits and she inspired the students to get placed in core companies. The company gave a consent to conduct a recruitment drive for 2017-2021 batch ECE students of our college.

The 68th IETE Foundation Day celebrations of IETE Kochi Centre was organized on 20th November 2021 hosted by ISF unit of Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda in online mode. Pro Talks -1 , COVID 19 AWARENESS
A group of students from the third semester of Electronics and Communication Engineering department has launched a short video series ‘Pro Talks’ on Instagram. The series focuses on eminent persons from multidisciplinary areas answering questions of ECE students. The video series is aimed at providing students with an opportunity to learn from prominent individuals from various fields. The students ask questions about the individual's field of work and their journey for aspiring students.

Industry visit to CMET, Thrissur
A group of 50 students from S6 ECE visited the Thrissur Laboratory of C-MET, 28th Feb. 2023. CMET was observing ‘Open Day’ as part of National Science Day. Students visited various laboratories and facilities, as well as projects and products related to various areas, viz., Microwave dielectrics, Multilayer Ceramics, Actuators and Sensors, Nanomaterials and thin films, Aerogels and Graphene supercapacotors etc..They could understand how various electronic devices are fabricated .

Value Added Course on TINKERCAD
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted a 5-day online Value Added Course on Tinkercad for the third-semester ECE students. The sessions were held on 15th, 16th, 17th, 19th & 20th of October 2020.The course aimed to provide hands-on experience in circuit design using Tinkercad, a popular platform for designing and simulating circuits. The course was conducted in online mode, with two hours per day. The course was divided into five sessions .

Fund raising initiative under ece association ECTA. S8 ece coordinated the whole event and received external participation. 32 teams registered for the event. Event was inaugurated by Father John Paliakara Exe Director at 10:00 am. Event came to an end by around. prize distribution to the winners was done HOD ece. Team eagles maprnam won the championship. Runner-up for the event was from s2 ece- 2021-2025 batch.

Fifty six students of the S6 Electronics and Communication Engineering batch (2019-2023 ), along with faculty members Dr. Caren Babu and Mr.Tony C Thomas started the journey to visit KEL on 08/07/2022 at 07.00am. Kerala Electrical & Allied Engineering Co. Ltd., also known as KEL. Experts in the industry explained about the manufacturing parts, winding of transformers, its transportation, procedures for casting using design, testing and different types of necessity and their differences etc.

The Electronics and Communication department of Christ College of Engineering has successfully organised 'SALT' on 9th July 2022 The session was conducted at St.Marys HSS Irinjalakuda.1:30pm. A few basics on the arduino circuit and a few basic sensors were introduced. Further delivering info about the Arduino Hardware and the software related to it. The students were provided with the basics of circuit simulation using Tinkercad software and finished off with a display of robots.

It was organized by the 2nd semester,Electronics and Communication Department of batch 202 2022. The 52 students with two facilities visited KEL on Friday, 8th July 2022.To gain knowledge about transformers and its manufacturing. The company manufacturers and markets the products like general purpose brushless alternators for lighting and air conditioning of rail coaches, medium power and distribution transformers as well as structural steel fabrications.

MathWorks Community @CCE has organised a one day Hands-on Workshop today on 'Circuit Analysis using MATLAB and Simulink'. Dr. Ravishankar A N, Assoc. Smart India Hackathon (SIH 2023)
Christ College of Engineering is proud to have hosted an Internal Hackathon for SIH 2023 on Sept 27th and 28th offline and on Nov 2nd online. With a total of 32 teams(196 students)participating, it was a truly inspiring event.The jury members carefully evaluated each team's performance and selected 21 teams (126 students) to be nominated for SIH 2023. On October 31st 2023, the college completed the team nomination process and the selected students submitted their ideas on the SIH portal

A hands-on session on PCB Design and Fabrication was organized by the Department of ECE, IETE Students Forum, and IEDC CCE. The students were trained in creating PCB design in Orcad Capture, in transferring the printed design to PCB boards, etching and drilling. The programme was attended by 60 students from S6 ECE, S8 ECE and a student from Christ College Autonomous.

SAE India Autonomous Drone Development Challenge 2024
A team of 10 talented students from S7 ECE participated in the SAE India Autonomous Drone Development Challenge 2024 held at KCG College of Technology, Karapakkam, TN. Their team developed an advanced autonomous drone designed to execute pick-up and drop missions with precision, efficiency and innovative design. Prior to this, the team attended a workshop at SRM College, Chennai, which aids the development of their drone.
